Add Scripture to your home screen

Scripture can live on your phone like an app: its own icon, full screen with no browser bars, and quick to open when you’d otherwise reach for social media. It takes about ten seconds, and there’s nothing to download from an app store.

  1. 1

    Open Scripture in Safari

If you opened the link inside WhatsApp, Instagram or another app, tap its or button and choose Open in Safari first.

  2. 2

    Tap the Share button

It’s in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen (at the top on iPad). On newer iPhones, tap first, then Share.

  3. 3

    Tap Add to Home Screen

Scroll down the list if you don’t see it straight away.

  4. 4

    Tap Add

If you see Open as Web App, leave it switched on. That makes Scripture open full screen, like a real app.

  5. 5

Open Scripture from your home screen

It opens straight into the feed, without Safari’s address bar, and keeps your saved passages and reading history.

Using a different browser?

In Chrome or Edge on iPhone, tap in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen. On older versions of iOS only Safari can do this, so open the link in Safari.
